RACES:
Sea to Summit Series

The Maine Sea to Summit Race Series starts with our Mount Desert Island Marathon, Half & Relay held in October and concludes at our little sister race, the legendary FREE Millinocket Marathon & Half in December!

Race Series Overview

Millinocket could not RUN without the support of Run MDI!

Did you know that race director Gary Allen founded both the MDI Marathon and the FREE Millinocket Marathon? The same core team produces and manages both events, volunteering their time for Millinocket, which is made possible by the successes of the award-winning MDI races!

The Maine Sea to Summit Race Series is a celebration of the kinship felt between these two magnificent events. Both MDI and Millinocket feature USATF certified marathon and half-marathon courses that may be used to qualify for entry into the Boston Marathon and NYC Marathon.

All Sea to Summit entrants will earn an extra special commemorative medal to be picked up in Millinocket.

Participants may select any distance option offered at either race.

We hope you’ll go all the way by signing up for the Sea to Summit Race Series today!

Because the Sea to Summit Race Series (S2S) is based on registration data, you will be considered a participant regardless of the status of your finish at either race.

S2S registrations are not eligible for transfers/deferrals/refunds. You may review the race cancellation policy by clicking HERE.

Note: All S2S registrants will have a gold stripe on their Millinocket bib number to identify them for their S2S medal. In the event that you are not able to run MDI, you may contact us prior to November 1st to request that this gold bar be omitted. (If you omit the gold bar, you will not be eligible for an S2S medal.)
